Vacation House Starts at $2,000.00 August 21, 2013
Q: How long have you been here in Dipolog City?
A: While growing up, I used to come here in Dipolog City every summer vacation. After my studies in Manila, I decided to transfer here and it has been four incredible years already. I have always considered Dipolog City, especially here in Mediatrix Hills as my second home. Right before my eyes, Dipolog underwent changes and progress very fast. And in a span of four years, Dipolog City has made me felt that I’m on vacation all year round. Work and relaxation goes hand in hand.
Q: Why did you choose Dipolog City and Mediatrix Hills?
A: I never got the chance to choose since my parents own the house and the job I took was also appointed to me. I never got the chance to take an interview and see if I was really qualified for the job either. However, what I find more important is the opportunity and the numerous discoveries that came after making that choice. Going back to your question, I stayed here because after a day’s work, stress just goes away quickly. Plus, the food here is very affordable—you get them in their freshest condition. Health is also very vital in my lifestyle, so, food and being close to nature is a key in maintaining that lifestyle.
Q: It must have been hard for a city boy like you to adjust at first, right?
A: Yes, definitely. At first, of course, I had to be culturally aware of everything. Adding also the fact that I didn’t know how to speak Bisaya, the predominant language, gave me a hard time to communicate. But putting an effort in appreciating the uniqueness of being in Dipolog City made it easier for me to adjust. Now, I can already fluently speak Bisaya, although, at times, I still mix it with Tagalog (my first language). I’m also thankful that people here understand Tagalog and English very well.
Q: How about the food?
A: I love the food! Like what I said earlier, you get them fresh. I especially like the simplicity of each dish like how chicken parts, pork bellies and freshly caught fish are just grilled. We call it sugba. And I’m quite surprised lately that restaurants offering variety of cuisines are continually opening. We have UrChoice which has an authentic Italian line-up of pizzas and pastas. We also have the newly opened Umami Room that serves Japanese food. And many more. It’s safe to say that people here are more becoming adventurous with food and that the choices when eating out has already diversified compared to three to four years ago.
Q: You seem to be really accustomed to Dipolog life already! What more can you ask for in a city like this?
A: Now, I am very satisfied with everything. The city governance has extremely made a good job in keeping the city clean and safe. You’d have no worries going out and doing your business. To make it more progressive, I just think that more infrastructures should be made, city expansion should be planned out in the next five years and improving the traffic system.
Q: What are you expecting for yourself in the future?
A: I’m just very hopeful that more investors would come here in Dipolog. I am also praying that tourists would increase. Our locals working in abroad should advertise and market our city since I believe it has really a lot to offer. If investments in the city come, progress will not only be doubled but tripled making it a city to watch for. If we have more tourist attractions, parks, malls and recreational facilities, it will without a doubt increase the popularity of Dipolog city as a tourist destination and a very good choice for putting up vacation houses.
Q: They say that in Mediatrix Hills, you rarely see your neighbors, is that true?
A: Yes! That is partly true (laughs). That is one thing very positive yet at the same time uncharacteristic of this neighborhood. One, the members of the community consists of business men, politicians, foreigners and overseas workers. We all know that these kinds of people are particularly very busy. Otherwise, they won’t choose a community with too much disturbance. Two, I rarely see them because of the nature of their work, most of the time they are away and out of the country. They come here sometimes with their family in an average of twice a year. On the contrary to common belief, we know each other within the community and consider ourselves as friends. Hopefully in the future, we’d be able organize a weekend barbeque on the clubhouse, that would be nice.
Q: What can you say to those people like you who wish to be part of a community like Mediatrix Hills?
A: To those professionals like me and especially those who are in abroad, local or foreign, who are looking for vacation houses, or a secondary house, Mediatrix Hills offers them in a very competitive price. Especially, to the locals who have families and relatives in nearby municipalities, it will become easier to visit them and accommodate them while here in the Zamboanga region. The subdivision is very near the airport, just 5 to 10 minutes away. Adding to that, the project site is very accessible to main roads and alternate roads. You’ll never miss it.
Q: Thank you so much for your time and we hope that you’d stay here longer!
A: Thank you so much too SevenOneHundred for the continuous support.
